“As I sat on the edge of the grass,
I watched the clouds above move so fast
Each cloud I named with all my worries,
And asked them to take them away in a hurry
I spread out my hands to touch the ground,
I wish I could stop feeling down
How can I stop my mind from being this way,
Have hope I heard a faint whisper say
I looked around there was no one there,
I asked again in a gentle prayer
Please give some hope of brighter times,
Help me to get up this mountain I climb
A little sign of faith and luck,
Could it be lurking in this muck
I watched a bee buzz and fly,
Please little bee tell me why
Where can i find this thing called hope,
Could it be the thing that helps me cope
School can be such a lonely place,
So much noise and not a friendly face
Open your eyes the whisper repeated,
Don’t let the school make you feel defeated
Please little bird show me the way to find it,
Guide me to hope and there i’ll sit
I watched as the robin bobbed up and down,
I watched as swooped and stopped on the ground .
He sat still as can be,
I knew he was calling on me
So i walked over and watched his gaze,
I was beginning to feel I was in a haze
As i looked down where stood,
I saw something that lifted my mood
There was something so very green,
The most beauty l green I have ever seen
I picked it up and started to count the leaves,
I gentle sat down on my knees
One two three and four,
Surely there wouldn’t be more
Four perfect green shapes,
The most perfect lucky charm this makes
A clover to keep right,
A piece of clover to give me hope through the night
To trust in a future full of love,
A life that’s a gift from above
